Top 4 hottest football matches this week 4/12 - 6/12: Match Previews

Thu, 02/12/2021 - 08:09

What a wonderful weekend with lots of worth-watching clashes for football lovers. Below are our predictions for those matches!

Premier League

Wolverhampton vs Liverpool

Wolves have only lost one of their previous nine Premier League games, but they have been held to goalless draws in back-to-back games going into the weekend.

After thrashing Everton 4-1 on Wednesday, Liverpool has scored at least three goals in nine of its 11 away matches in all competitions this season.

Liverpool has won all five of their Premier League away games against Wolves, and that trend is set to continue here.

Prediction: Wolverhampton 0-3 Liverpool

La Liga

Barcelona vs Real Betis

Xavi and Barcelona have now won two games in a row in La Liga, defeating Villarreal away from home last time out and passing a major test. The victory was contentious due to disputed refereeing decisions in Barcelona's favor, but the bottom line is that the Blaugrana earned three points thanks to goals from Frenkie de Jong, Memphis Depay, and Philippe Coutinho.

That triumph came after a Catalan derby victory over Espanyol, but it was wedged between a Champions League draw with Benfica, and Barca will be looking ahead to next week's Champions League showdown with Bayern Munich, which they will almost certainly have to win.

Last time out, Real Betis won 3-1 against hapless Levante, thanks to a stunning hat-trick from Juanmi. That victory came after a Europa League victory against Ferencvaros, which earned them a place in the following round, and they had previously defeated Elche in La Liga.

With three wins in as many games and a four-point lead over Barcelona in fifth place, Betis will be confident that they can take something home from Camp Nou, and they just could. Manuel Pellegrini's team is only a point away from a point.

Prediction: Barcelona 0-0 Real Betis

Bundesliga

Dortmund vs Bayern Munich

When Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich meet in Der Klassiker at Signal Iduna Park, there will be fireworks. On Erling Haland's return from injury, Marco Rose's club outplayed Wolfsburg 3-1, keeping the team in the title chase. Thorgan Hazard has tested positive for coronavirus, thus the Norway international should be reinstated to the starting XI. In any case, Marco Rose will be able to rely on important players for the Bundesliga match.

Prediction: Dortmund 2-2 Bayern Munich

Serie A

AS Roma vs Inter Milan

Inter Milan will travel to fifth-placed Roma on Sunday night hoping to keep their slim chances of catching Juventus at the top of Serie A alive.

Antonio Conte's team are now in second position, six points behind leaders Juventus, while Roma are in fifth place, four points ahead of sixth-placed Napoli but 12 points behind fourth-placed Lazio.

Inter need a win to keep their slim title aspirations alive, but Roma will be full of confidence after a three-game winning streak. We're having trouble picking a winner in this match, so we've predicted a low-scoring draw, which would be a fantastic result for the hosts.

Prediction: AS Roma 1-1 Inter Milan
