Manchester United 3-2 Arsenal
On Monday, United confirmed Ralf Rangnick's interim position until the end of the season, but the German only received his work permit on Thursday, thus former caretaker manager Michael Carrick was back on the bench.
When David de Gea went down after colliding with Fred, Arsenal scored a contentious goal to take the lead in the game. On the stroke of half-time, Bruno Fernandes broke his goal drought to bring United back into the contest.
Cristiano Ronaldo was attempting to score his 800th career goal against Arsenal, and the forward's goal seemed inescapable. In the second half, Ronaldo gave United the lead before Arsenal equalized. However, the London club was unable to respond as the Portuguese star converted from the spot to make the game 3-2 and give United a much-needed three points.
Rangnick will be in charge of United's Premier League match against Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon.
