Luis Diaz, Mohamed Salah, and Sadio Mane scored the first three goals, two of them in the first 22 minutes, in a dominant display to which United had no response.

Ralf Rangnick's conservative five-man defense appeared to be geared to keep things tighter this time, but United were completely outclassed from the start, missing out on the chance to push for fourth place.

After seven minutes, the heartbreaking news that Cristiano Ronaldo will be absent due to the death of his newborn baby was met with a well-timed round of applause.

Apart from that poignant moment, Jurgen Klopp's side performed their job mercilessly, destroying United in a high-tempo game that was too much for the visitors, led by Thiago.
