Highlights

A dismal and gloomy match got off to a rousing start when Weston McKennie scored against the run of play for the Bianconeri. Inter had made a strong start to the game, but Juve's opening caught them off guard. Despite this, they equalized before halftime due to a powerful spot-kick from Lautaro Martinez.

Juve's strategy changed dramatically after halftime, as they proceeded to sit deeper and deeper in their seats, allowing Inter to attack at will. The Nerazzurri dominated the second half, but Juve's defense, led by Giorgio Chiellini, refused to give up the huge opportunity.

As a result, the game went to overtime, where a similar dynamic played out. Juve were playing for penalties, and despite their superiority, Inter seemed resigned to a shootout as the game progressed. However, Alex Sandro's blunder in defence in the final minute of the extra period allowed replacement Alexis Sanchez to pounce, and the Chilean sneaked in ahead of Chiellini before finishing from close range beyond Mattia Perin.

Inter won the Supercoppa as a result of the goal, and Juventus' defeat was heartbreaking given their defensive efforts.
