Freiburg 1-3 Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund came back from a goal down to defeat host Freiburg 3-1 in the Bundesliga on Friday. Three substitutes scored three goals in 11 minutes late in the second half.

Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, a young international for England, scored the equalizer in the 77th minute following a mistake by the goalkeeper before evading three defenders to assist Youssoufa Moukoko in scoring again in the 84th. In the 88th, Marius Wolf secured the victory.

Anthony Modeste, a new striker for Dortmund who was signed over the week as a last-minute replacement for Sebastien Haller who is undergoing treatment for a malignant tumor, started the game.

But Michael Gregoritsch's looping header, which was his second goal of the year, gave the hosts the lead.

Dortmund lacked accuracy, and Freiburg had the better opportunities after the interval. Gregoritsch missed the target after once again going unnoticed.

Due to a gaffe by Mark Flekken, who attempted to block a 25-meter effort from youngster Bynoe-Gittens but let the ball slide between his hands and into the net, Dortmund were awarded an unexpected equalizer, sparking their comeback.

When Bynoe-Gittens was put in position but couldn't put the ball in the net in the 83rd, he should have done better. However, he made up for it with a brilliant run that set up Moukoko's 2-1 goal in the next minute.

Wolf, who had come on at halftime, secured the victory and Dortmund's second victory in as many league games.

Bayern Munich 2-0 Wolfsburg

Bayern Munich defeated Wolfsburg easily on Sunday afternoon to earn their second straight Bundesliga victory. They needed just two goals in the first half.

Jamal Musiala scored the opening goal for the defending German champions after some sloppy build-up play when he burst free on the edge of the box and fired in. Last week, the champions won 6-1 at Eintracht Frankfurt to start their championship defense.

Just before halftime, Alphonse Davies sent the ball back to Joshua Kimmich, whose shot Thomas Muller deflected into the goal to increase their lead.

Sadio Mane, a summer signing, put the ball in the net twice, but both of his goals were disallowed for offside. As Robert Lewandowski's replacement, Mane was once more used in the center, with Serge Gnabry in the hole and Muller and Musiala on the wings.

Along with the reliable Benjamin Pavard and Kimmich, Musiala was one of Bayern's top performers. At 19 years and 169 days, he became the youngest German player ever to score 14 Bundesliga goals; only Jadon Sancho (19 years and 145 days) had done it earlier.

Following two convincing wins, Bayern is currently leading the Bundesliga, followed by Borussia Dortmund in second place following close victory over Bayer Leverkusen and Freiburg.
