Here are the main talking points from the most worth-watching games in the Premier League this weekend.

Arsenal 2-0 Newcastle United

The main story of the first half was Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's terrible miss, with Arsenal seeing plenty of the ball but being limited to efforts from outside the area.

The Gunners, on the other hand, didn't take long to take the lead after the break. Bukayo Saka passed Martin Dubravka with a neat Nuno Tavares ball, and Gabriel Martinelli increased the lead just 93 seconds after coming off the bench to replace Saka.

Manchester City 2-1 West Ham United

Gundogan's first-half tap-in (33), which was severely extended as City's ground workers courageously cleared the playing surface of the downpour of snow that had rendered the conclusion of the first period nearly unplayable, was the difference between the two teams at the interval.

The poor weather and long half-time break restricted a free-flowing second half, but City kept West Ham at bay throughout, eventually closing up the win when substitute Fernandinho scored with one of his first touches just three minutes after coming on.

West Ham, who had not lost in the Premier League since April, had the final say when Manuel Lanzini rifled a spectacular attempt in off the post (90+4), but it was a scant consolation on a day when David Moyes' team was tormented by the champions' brilliance and the weather.

City's fifth consecutive win in all competitions moves them into second place in the Premier League, level on points with leaders Chelsea, while West Ham stay in fourth place, six points behind.
