2021-22 Premier League week 12: Match Previews

Fri, 19/11/2021 - 07:44

Are you excited about watching live football on tv this weekend? The Premier League is back after the international break and let's see what awaits us in England's top-flight football league. We bring you the predictions of the most worth-watching matches!

1. Leicester City vs Chelsea

Leicester City's fortunes have been up and down this season, and they'll be hoping for a decent showing against Chelsea at home in the Premier League. The two teams are separated by 11 points, with Chelsea on top with 26 points and Leicester on the bottom with 15 points. Leicester have not won in three games and have not kept a clean sheet in their last ten. They've only kept one clean sheet in 15 games, and their defense has allowed the most goals (18) among the top 14 teams. In four of their last five games, both teams have scored, with Leicester failing to score in one. Leicester has scored twice in three of their previous five league games, but they have only two wins in their five home league games this season.

Chelsea, on the other hand, will be trying to rebound from their 1-1 draw with Burnley last time out. It was their second draw in five games, but they have a strong defensive unit. They have three clean sheets in their previous five games and have the strongest defense in the league, conceding only four goals. Chelsea has gone undefeated in their previous five league games, scoring two or more goals in six of their last ten. Chelsea has won four of their last five league games away from home, keeping four clean sheets in the process. With Romelu Lukaku back in training after injury, they will have a boost in attack, although the Belgian may not be able to present here.

2. Watford vs Manchester United

Manchester United have dropped three of their last four EPL matches and know they need to win at Watford. Despite the fact that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer survived the international break, speculation about his future abounds, with Brendan Rodgers expected to be a contender for any potential vacancy at Old Trafford. After eleven games, Manchester United has fallen nine points behind Premier League leaders Chelsea.

Watford are currently in 17th place, but if Burnley beat Crystal Palace, they might drop into the bottom three. Claudio Ranieri was enraged by Arsenal's winner in the club's final game before the international break, and he's had two weeks to reflect on the 1-0 setback ahead of another match against a Premier League top-four contender.

3. Manchester City vs Everton

At The Etihad Stadium, it's title presentation day, but City must strike a balance between self-preservation ahead of the Champions League final and not spoiling the party on what should be a day of joy in Manchester's blue half.

Since City's Premier League title win was announced, Pep Guardiola has been rotating his team, and the Citizens' performances have been a touch chaotic as a result.

City has only earned three points from their past three games, but their contests have been thrilling to watch, with 15 goals scored in the last 360 minutes.

Everton, in contrast, may still qualify for next season's Conference League if things go their way on the final day, and a point could be enough to put them in seventh position if Spurs lose at Leicester.

The Toffees warmed up for their trip to the champions by beating Wolves 1-0 at Goodison Park for the first time in seven attempts, though their superior goal-scoring ability could threaten Man City’s defence.

4. Tottenham vs Leeds United

Tottenham Hotspur welcome Leeds United to White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon, with new manager Antonio Conte hoping for his first Premier League win in command of the north London club.

Spurs hired the former Chelsea manager after replacing Nuno Espirito Santo, and will be expecting improved results on the field.

Leeds have been inconsistent so far this season, and will be looking to rack up more points to avoid being drawn into a relegation battle.
