1. Inter Milan 2-0 Shakhtar Donetsk
Inter Milan is on the verge of reaching the Champions League knockout stage for the first time in ten years after defeating Shakhtar Donetsk 2-0 on Wednesday. Edin Dzeko scored twice.
Dzeko's two goals in the second half occurred in a six-minute span. Inter had been the better team but had been let down by poor finishing, while Shakhtar goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin had made several excellent saves.
The Italians have risen to the top of Group D. It is a point ahead of Real Madrid, which faces Sheriff later in the day. Inter will be guaranteed a spot in the last 16 with a match to spare if Sheriff fails to win. The Nerazzurri will play their farewell encounter in Madrid.

2. Sporting CP 3-1 Dortmund
Sporting Lisbon defeated 10-man Borussia Dortmund 3-1 on Wednesday, clinching their place in the Champions League knockout rounds for the first time in 13 years and knocking the Germans out of the competition.
Goncalves scored twice in the first half to lead his side to their tenth consecutive win in all competitions and nine points in Group C, three points clear of the Germans with one game remaining and a better head-to-head record after losing 1-0 in Dortmund in September.

3. Atletico Madrid 0-1 AC Milan
Milan are still alive in the Champions League after a 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid on Wednesday thanks to a late goal from Junior Messias.
With the win, the Rossoneri, Atletico Madrid, and FC Porto will compete in a three-way matchday six playoff in Group B to determine who will join runaway leaders Liverpool in the last 16.
The first half was a tense affair with few clear-cut chances. There were just six goal attempts in all, resulting in a collective xG value of 0.27.
Pierre Kulu saw a shot from inside the box stopped by Jan Oblak, while Rodrigo De Paul saw a long-range attempt that never looked like troubling Ciprian Tatarusanu.
Thomas Lemar finally found a gap in midfield after the break and sprinted through before sending a weak effort at the goalie.

4. Liverpool 2-0 Porto
Liverpool's dead rubber match against Porto was lighted up by Thiago Alcantara, who helped the Reds maintain their perfect Champions League record.
At the start of the second half, the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich striker's spectacular 30-yard screamer sailed low into the bottom corner of the net to open the score.
Liverpool's lead was doubled when Mohamed Salah scored his second goal, making the Portuguese visitors lament missing numerous good chances in the first half.
The finest of those chances were wasted by Mehdi Taremi and Otavio, while Sadio Mane's first-half effort was called out for offside by a much-changed Liverpool.

5. Sheriff 0-3 Real Madrid
Real Madrid advanced to the last 16 of the Champions League with a 3-0 win over Sheriff on Wednesday night.
On matchday two, the Moldovan National Division minnows stunned the world by defeating Real Madrid in the Spanish capital, but Carlo Ancelotti's charges were not to be outdone here, with Carlo Ancelotti's charges getting the job done with ease.
In the early stages, the hosts were tenacious in defense, but Los Blancos' greater skill was clear, with Karim Benzema having a goal disallowed for offside.
