Inter Milan 4-2 Empoli
Inter Milan beat Empoli 4-2 at home on Friday, keeping their Serie A title ambitions alive and provisionally moving to the top of the standings, thanks to two goals from striker Lautaro Martinez.
Inter moved one point clear of AC Milan, who can reclaim first place with a win against ninth-placed Verona on Sunday in their effort to win the Scudetto for the first time since 2011. Empoli is still in 14th place with 37 points.
Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic was stunned in the fifth minute when Andrea Pinamonti pounced on a wonderful low cross from Szymon Zurkowski to score his 13th goal of the season.
In the 28th minute, Empoli doubled their lead when defender Riccardo Fiamozzi fired a long ball into the box, which Kristjan Asllani rifled past Handanovic, who had sprinted out to stop him.
Inter got one back in the 40th minute when Empoli defender Simone Romagnoli scored an own goal after being rejected two penalties by VAR.
Martinez equalized just before halftime for his 18th league goal of the season, then put the hosts ahead in the 64th minute with a rebound shot past the keeper, before Alexis Sanchez secured the win in injury time.
Genoa 2-1 Juventus
After conceding two late goals in a 2-1 loss to relegation-threatened Genoa, Juventus squandered the chance to rise into third position in Serie A.
Massimiliano Allegri's side have already secured a place in the Champions League for next season and are now battling with Napoli for the symbolic bronze medal, having missed out on the chance to leapfrog Luciano Spalletti's side. Meanwhile, with only two games remaining, Genoa is one point from safety.
Moise Kean met a beautiful cross from Paulo Dybala, but his header skimmed the very top of the Genoa bar, as Juventus' first chance of the game went begging.
For all of the first half, Genoa kept Juve at bay, creating a series of set-piece opportunities, the greatest of which fell to Mattia Destro, whose free header soared over.
Salvatore Sirigu pushed a low cross from Kean away from goal before failing to make the most of Adrien Rabiot's deep delivery into the opposition box.

Verona 1-3 AC Milan
AC Milan put in a terrific performance to overcome another challenge and defeat Hellas Verona 3-1 this evening. Despite controlling the game from the start and creating multiple chances to take the lead at the Bentegodi, the Rossoneri fell down to Faraoni's opening. Coach Pioli's team, on the other hand, did not give up and responded admirably, equalizing on the stroke of half-time. Tonali's tap-in proved essential, allowing the Diavolo to carry on after the interval and earn a crucial win courtesy to another Tonali goal and Florenzi's late finish on his comeback.
Tonali grabbed center stage on his 22nd birthday, putting on a spectacular show on a memorable evening. Leo was also outstanding, assisting on both of the Italian's goals. With only two rounds of matches remaining in Serie A, AC Milan now has 80 points and has returned to the top of the table. The Rossoneri will meet Atalanta in a major battle at San Siro on Sunday at 18:00 CEST. The goal will be to defeat the Bergamo team, and only then will they be able to make Scudetto calculations. The goal is obvious, and the AC Milan fans, who were outstanding once again today, are ready to back their team all the way to the final.

Fiorentina 2-0 AS Roma
Fiorentina defeated Roma 2-0 in Serie A on Monday, reviving their hopes of qualifying for Europe after three consecutive defeats.
After only 11 minutes in Florence, Nicolas Gonzalez converted a penalty and Giacomo Bonaventura doubled the lead.
Fiorentina moved up to seventh place, level on points with Roma in sixth and Atalanta in ninth.
With 62 points, Lazio is in fifth place, ahead of Roma (59), Fiorentina (59), and Atalanta (59).
While the Champions League slots are already decided, with AC Milan, Inter Milan, Napoli, and Juventus all assured of a top-four finish with two games to go, the Europa League and Conference League spots are still up for grabs.
The fifth and sixth-placed teams will advance to the Europa League, while the seventh-placed team will likely be assigned to the Conference League.
Because the Conference League champion qualifies for the Europa League, if Roma wins the Conference League final on May 25 and does not finish in the top six, Italy will have three teams in the Europa League and none in the Conference League.
