Brighton 0-2 Liverpool
Liverpool beat Brighton 2-0 to close the gap on Manchester City. Luis Diaz scored his second goal for the Reds, while Mohamed Salah also scored.
Diaz met a beautiful clipped ball from Joel Matip to head past Robert Sanchez before being clattered by the Spanish goalkeeper, who escaped a red card.
Diaz's goal put an end to Brighton's superb first 15 minutes at the Amex and signaled the start of a run of dominance for the visitors that lasted for the rest of the game.
Salah, who squandered multiple good chances but remained dangerous throughout, extended the lead from the penalty spot just after the hour mark.
Jurgen Klopp's team breezed through the final minutes on the south coast, reducing the gap between them and City at the top of the Premier League to just three points.

Chelsea 1-0 Newcastle
On Sunday, Kai Havertz scored a late goal to give Chelsea a 1-0 triumph over a tenacious Newcastle side at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League.
The Blues didn't have a shot on goal until the 75th minute, when Hakim Ziyech delivered a beautiful cross to Havertz, but the German headed straight at Martin Dubravka in Chelsea's greatest chance of the game at that point.
In the first half, there was nothing to differentiate the two teams, with Newcastle having the best of the chances. On the stroke of half-time, Miguel Almiron forced a wonderful reaction stop from Edouard Mendy after Dan Burn flicked a header wide.
In the second half, both teams had penalty appeals turned down. Trevoh Chalobah challenged Jacob Murphy, who fell down, before Dubravka fouled Timo Werner, who was offside. As the game progressed, both sides made attacking substitutions, but it was Havertz who scored the game-winning goal, grabbing onto a spectacular aerial ball from Jorginho, taking the ball down and shooting it into the far corner of the net.
Tuchel's side will turn their attention to the Champions League on Wednesday evening when they travel to Lille, where they will aim to improve on a two-goal lead and clinch a place in the quarter-finals. Newcastle, meanwhile, will be back on the road in the Premier League on Thursday night when they visit Frank Lampard's Everton.

Arsenal 2-0 Leicester City
On Sunday, Arsenal defeated Leicester City 2-0 in the Premier League, with goals from Thomas Partey and Alexandre Lacazette proving the difference between the two teams.
The Gunners got off to a strong start, with Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, and Gabriel Martinelli causing multiple difficulties for the Leicester defense. And the Gunners were rewarded as Partey rose highest at the near post to head home a Gabriel Martinelli corner in the 11th minute.
Partey almost increased the home side's advantage with a stunning side-footed effort from the edge of the box, but the ball cannoned off the upright.
Around the half-hour mark, Leicester began to show signs of life, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Harvey Barnes starting to get on the ball. In the 35th minute, an incredible stop from Aaron Ramsdale, who was at full stretch to deflect Barnes' header round the post, denied the latter.
At the outset of the second half, Arsenal seized control, running Leicester's defense tired. And the defense finally gave way as Caglar Soyuncu (who else?) reached out a hand to stop a Partey header, handing Arsenal a penalty.

Crystal Palace 0-0 Manchester City
Manchester City were held to a 0-0 draw by Crystal Palace, giving Liverpool a boost in the Premier League title battle. At Selhurst Park, the defending champions squandered a hat trick of chances, dropping two key points in their quest for an eighth English title.
After Joao Cancelo's powerful 30-yard drive had crashed into the post, Pep Guardiola's side dominated the first half and should have seized the lead when Aymeric Laporte blazed over an open net.
After the break, the woodwork saved Palace once more when Kevin De Bruyne's drive hit the par post, and goalkeeper Vincente Guaita made a stunning stop to deny Riyad Mahrez on the rebound.
Bernardo Silva came inches away from scoring when he couldn't get enough of a toe on Jack Grealish's cross, ultimately poking wide rather than into the empty net.
Palace, on the other hand, should be commended for their defending. They played on the counter, with 11 men behind the ball, but they continuously packed out City's players around the 18-yard box, giving De Bruyne little time or space to work his magic.
