Burnley 1-1 Manchester United

Ralf Rangnick's squad led after a dominant first half, but Sean Dyche's side earned a point thanks to a fantastic goal by Jay Rodriguez soon after the break.

United, who had Cristiano Ronaldo on the bench, were left to regret squandered opportunities when West Ham's victory over Watford knocked them out of the Champions League places.

Burnley are still in the relegation zone, but if they can demonstrate the fighting mentality embodied by new acquisition Wout Weghorst, they will have a chance to stay up.

Manchester City 2-0 Brentford

City stretched their Premier League lead to 12 points with a 2-0 victory over Brentford at the Etihad.

After Raheem Sterling was taken down in the first half, Riyad Mahrez scored a penalty to put Pep Guardiola's team up at the break.

Kevin De Bruyne's excellent 69th-minute effort was enough to seal the deal and secure the team's 19th league victory of the season.

Tottenham 2-3 Southampton

In a dramatic struggle on Wednesday evening, Tottenham threw away a 2-1 lead in the final 10 minutes, as Southampton emerged triumphant.

Spurs had taken the lead thanks to an own goal by Jan Bednarek, but the visitors piled on the pressure, bombarding Hugo Lloris' goal with a barrage of efforts.

Armando Broja's equalizer, which came as a result of Spurs' poor defending, should have been added to.

Tottenham regained their composure after the interval and appeared to have clinched the game when Heung-min Son turned in Lucas Moura's cross, but James Ward-precision Prowse's proved fatal in the dying minutes.

The England international first found Mo Elyounoussi with a fantastic cross to bring the game level, before receiving the same treatment minutes later to give the away team a memorable victory.

There was even time for more drama when Steven Bergwijn scored a goal that appeared to be an equalizer in added time, but it was chalked off by VAR.

Liverpool 2-0 Leicester City

Jota scored from close range after Kasper Schmeichel had parried Virgil van Dijk's header (34), then scored from a Joel Matip pass (87), bringing Liverpool back within nine points of Manchester City with a game in hand.

The Reds were without Sadio Mane, who returned late from the Africa Cup of Nations, and Jurgen Klopp resisted the temptation to start Mohamed Salah, who was selected on the bench after Egypt's defeat to Senegal in the final on Sunday.

In their absence, though, Jota stepped up once more, bringing his season total to 17, while Luis Diaz, their January transfer from Porto, had an outstanding Premier League debut.

Salah did come off the bench in the second half, receiving a standing ovation from the Anfield crowd before looping a shot against the woodwork and watching Schmeichel deny him twice more.

Jota's second goal came after Liverpool had squandered a series of chances, securing Liverpool's sixth consecutive Premier League home win and leaving Leicester in 12th place, still reeling from their FA Cup 4-1 loss to Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

After exchanging passes with Ademola Lookman, Brendan Rodgers' side defended resolutely for the first half-hour and had brilliant moments in attack, most notably when James Maddison's angled shot was superbly stopped by Alisson.

Wolves 0-1 Arsenal

Gabriel's first-half goal, along with a strong defensive showing in the final 20 minutes, was enough to secure a crucial victory at Wolves.

Gabriel, our defender, was in the right place at the right moment to score Arsenal’s opening goal from close range, giving them their first goal in five games.

His colleague Gabriel Martinelli was sent out in the second half for two yellow cards in rapid succession, and the hosts immediately put them under pressure.

However, the defense held firm, with Aaron Ramsdale making a key save, and the win moves them up to fifth position in the league.
