Cadiz 1-1 Real Madrid

Real Madrid were beaten to a 1-1 draw by Cadiz after Mariano Diaz's early goal was canceled out by Ruben Soriano.

In the second half, the home team should have won the game, but Andriy Lunin stopped an Alvaro Negredo penalty, which was Negredo's first La Liga penalty miss in a decade.

Cadiz started strongly and almost took the lead via Sobrino with plenty to play for. The wide man attempted a daring half-volley at goal from 25 yards out, but the ball sailed just past of the top left corner despite being solidly hit.

Real put an end to that auspicious start in the fifth minute. Diaz scored the goal, but it wouldn't have been possible without some excellent play by Rodrygo, who surged past three men inside the six-yard box before squaring to his teammates.

Despite having the majority of possession after that, the visitors appeared to be far more likely to score once they entered the offensive third.

Atletico Madrid 1-1 Sevilla

Sevilla battled back to clinch a late 1-1 draw away at Atletico Madrid, securing their top-four berth and Champions League qualification.

It also means that the race for third place in LaLiga Santander will go down to the wire, with Los Colchoneros trailing Los Nervionenses by just one point with one game remaining.

Atleti took the lead as Jose Maria Gimenez headed home a Yannick Carrasco corner after half an hour.

However, the game was far from over, with both teams fighting tooth and nail.

Rodrigo de Paul forced a fantastic stop from Sevilla goalkeeper Bono in the second half, then Youssef En-Nesyri headed off the crossbar as the game began to resemble a final in the closing stages.

En-Nesyri was to earn another headed chance soon after, and he didn't miss this time, burying Oliver Torres' cross with five minutes remaining.

Sevilla has mathematically guaranteed a top four finish with the point, since they lead Real Betis by three points and possess the head-to-head tiebreaker.

Meanwhile, Atleti already held a place in the top four and will finish third if they match or exceed Sevilla's result next Sunday. They travel to Real Sociedad, while Athletic Club visits Sevilla.

The final LaLiga Santander matchday of the 2021/22 season will be well worth watching, with plenty to play for in terms of final standings and European spots.

Getafe 0-0 Barcelona

On Sunday night, Getafe secured their La Liga survival with a 0-0 draw against an uninspired Barcelona.

Apart from personal pride, Barça has nothing left to play for this season, and their performance had a real end-of-season feel to it. In actuality, neither side appeared capable of breaking the tie, and it was a blessing that referee Jesus Gil called the game off at the Alfonso Pérez Coliseum.

From the visitors' perspective, the first half was almost meaningless. Getafe were content to stay back and soak up pressure while Barcelona lacked urgency in possession.

The hosts appeared to be the most likely to score first. Set pieces caused particular problems for the relegation-threatened Azulones, and Enes Unal forced a rare stop from Marc-Andre ter Stegen shortly before halftime.

The visitors, on the other hand, had only two attempts on goal, the first of which came in the 41st minute. Neither approach was successful in breaking the impasse.
