Atletico Madrid 2-1 Espanyol

Atletico Madrid beat Espanyol 2-1 on Sunday, with Yannick Carrasco scoring the game-winning penalty with the game's final kick, in what may be a key victory in the fight for La Liga's top four.

When Geoffrey Kondogbia was sent off in the second half, Atletico appeared ready to lose another two points at the Wanda Metropolitano. But three minutes later, Raul de Tomas cancelled out Carrasco's opening, his free-kick slithering through Jan Oblak's fingertips.

Carrasco held his nerve when De Tomas handballed deep into additional time, the referee awarding the spot-kick after a lengthy consultation with VAR. With the clock approached 100 minutes, the ball hit the net.

With a last-gasp win, Atletico maintains a three-point lead over Real Betis in fifth place and is equal on points with third-placed Sevilla, who face Real Madrid at home later on Sunday.

Sevilla 2-3 Real Madrid

Madrid is 15 points clear at the top of La Liga and on the verge of winning the league, thanks to the striker's 39th goal of the season. Rodrygo and Nacho had previously equalized Sevilla's lead.

Sevilla is in third place, two games behind Barcelona on goal differential.

The hosts had taken a dominating lead thanks to Ivan Rakitic and Erik Lamela, but their chances of catching Real at the top now all but gone.

Atletico Madrid defeated Espanyol 2-1 thanks to Yannick Carrasco's stoppage-time penalty.

Before the midfielder scored from the penalty spot, the 10-man hosts were heading for a dismal draw.

Carrasco had given Atletico the lead seven minutes after the break, but with 19 minutes remaining, they had Geoffrey Kondogbia sent off.

Espanyol took advantage of the situation, with Raul De Tomas scoring a free-kick immediately after, but they were beaten at the death.

Celta Vigo defeated Athletic Bilbao 2-0 thanks to Iago Aspas and Beltran Fran goals.

Levante beat Granada 4-1 to improve their survival chances, however they are still four points behind the leaders.

Barcelona 0-1 Cadiz

Cadiz stunned Barcelona by winning their first ever game away from the Camp Nou, defeating Xavi's team 1-0 to inflict the Blaugrana their first league loss since December.

Despite dominating possession in the first half, Barcelona was unable to find an opening, and it was Cadiz who had the best chance to take the lead in the first half, when Lucas Perez sliced a close-range shot wide of the far post.

After Ruben Sobrino's original effort rebounded off Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Cadiz took a shock lead three minutes after the restart. Perez scored a tap-in from close range after Ruben Sobrino's initial effort rebounded off ter Stegen.

Barcelona then gave it everything they had to try and salvage the game, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang coming close late on with a dipping shot that was excellently stopped by Cadiz goalkeeper Jeremias Ledesma.

Cadiz held on for a spectacular victory and continued their unblemished run against La Blaugrana.
