Villarreal vs Real Madrid
Villarreal are coming off a highly remarkable win over Real Betis last time out, completing the double with an away victory thanks to goals from Paul Torres and Etienne Capoue.
The Yellow Submarine needed the win to get back on track following a stunning setback to Elche, and they had already defeated Mallorca.
Unai Emery's team is now in sixth place, three points behind Barcelona in fourth, despite having played one more game.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, increased their advantage at the top to six points last time out after defeating Granada thanks to a brilliant Marco Asensio score.
Following a stalemate with Elche and a loss to Athletic Club, that result was even more impressive than it appeared on paper, given the absences of Karim Benzema and Vinicius Junior, as well as Casemiro.
This is the second time these two teams have met this season, and they drew in their first meeting, with Villarreal impressing against the top sides so far.
Prediction: Villarreal 1-1 Real Madrid
Atletico Madrid vs Getafe
With a devastating 4-2 defeat to rivals Barcelona, Atletico Madrid's season has taken a turn for the worse. They were sometimes thrown out of the park and had to pay a high price for it.
Getafe has made a remarkable turnaround in recent performances, jumping to 15th place and seven points above the relegation zone. Last time out, they easily defeated Levante 3-0.
Getafe drew with Real Sociedad and defeated Granada 4-2 before beating Levante. At this point, the choice to replace Michel with Quique Sanchez Flores appears to be a wise one.
Prediction: Atletico Madrid 2-1 Getafe
Espanyol vs Barcelona
The newest round of the Catalan derby has here, and the two clubs are in very different spirits going into this one.
Espanyol's recent play has been terrible, as they were defeated 2-1 by Athletic Club last time out, despite Tonny Vilhena's first goal for the club.
The Catalans had previously been hammered by Real Betis and drew 2-2 with relegation-threatened Cadiz. They're still in a respectable 13th spot going into this one, but they know they'll be up against it.
That's because Barcelona has regained their form, with goals from Jordi Alba, Gavi, Ronald Araujo, and Dani Alves helping them to a 4-2 victory over Atletico Madrid last time out.
The win was the Blaugrana's finest of the season, and it moved them into fourth position when they defeated Alaves the night before.
Barca are on cloud nine right now, and they'll be sure of winning this Catalan derby, but derbies are rarely easy, so this might be a close away win.
Prediction: Espanyol 1-2 Barcelona
