Atletico Madrid scored twice in injury time to beat Valencia 3-2 in a thrilling LaLiga match at the Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday.

After Yunus Musah and Hugo Duro put the visitors up 2-0 at halftime, Diego Simeone's team appeared to be on their way to a third successive defeat in all competitions.

In the 64th minute, Matheus Cunha cut the deficit in half, laying the way for Angel Correa and Mario Hermoso to seal the most amazing victory with goals in stoppage time.

Valencia remained in ninth place, four points behind Real Betis with a game in hand. Atleti remained in fourth place.

Real Madrid 2-2 Elche

Elche almost pulled off the biggest upset of the La Liga season so far when Real Madrid snatched a 2-2 draw on Sunday thanks to a late Eder Militao header.

After ten minutes, Serious had their first real chance. The chance came as a result of some wonderful movement between Karim Benzema and Vinicius Junior, but the Brazilian's shot was brilliantly blocked by Edgar Badia, who then made a worldie save to deny Toni Kroos from range shortly after.

Benzema had a few more chances on goal, but his greatest opportunity came from a penalty kick. On the half-hour mark, Helibelton Palacios brought Vinicius down and conceded a penalty, but Benzema's shot was weak and went over the crossbar.

Elche's Lucas Boye headed home an improbable goal towards the conclusion of the first half, leaving Real with work to do in the second 45 minutes.

Real were awarded another penalty five minutes into the second half for a foul on Eden Hazard, but the judgment was reversed following VAR consultation.

Alaves 0-1 Barcelona

Barcelona failed to find any attacking spark on a chilly night in the Basque area. Despite dominating possession, the Catalan giants were constrained to tame, and far too slow, passes in front of a team that was 19th in La Liga at the time of the encounter.

Alaves undoubtedly contributed to suffocating a Barcelona team that has struggled to create chances all season, closing the spaces between their 4-5-1 lines and pressing up the pitch whenever possible to avoid a backs-to-the-wall low block.

On the 101st anniversary of the club's founding, the hosts came closest to breaking the deadlock in the first half at both ends. Captain Victor Laguardia cannoned a clearing off teammate Florian Lejeune's chest and nearly missed their own post.

Pere Pons of Alaves squandered one of the few chances either side had on the brink of half-time, slamming a shot into the grateful arms of Marc-Andre ter Stegen after one of numerous sloppy passes from Jordi Alba - the latest culprit - in a drab effort.
