Atletico Madrid vs Rayo Vallecano

Atletico Madrid is on their worst run of the season, having dropped 17 points behind leaders and rivals Real Madrid after losing each of their previous four games. Diego Simeone's side fell 2-1 to Granada last time out, despite an early Joao Felix goal, and the Portuguese was extremely unlucky to have a second goal called off. This came after defeats to Sevilla, Real Madrid, and Mallorca. Atleti hasn't won since their emphatic Champions League victory against Porto, and they'll be anxious to put an end to their losing streak here.

Rayo made the short trip to Wanda Metropolitano after winning all three points in their previous match, a 2-0 victory against Alaves due to goals from Sergio Navarro and Alejandro Murugan. Rayo now has an eight-game winning streak at home, and they now have the best home record in Europe's top five leagues. Rayo had lost to Villarreal before beating Alaves, and they enter this game in fourth place, one point ahead of Atletico Madrid.

Given Rayo's coronavirus problems, Atletico is likely to win this one convincingly.

Mallorca vs Barcelona

Mallorca is coming off a humiliating 4-1 loss to Granada before the Christmas break. Mallorca had been in excellent form recently, drawing with Celta Vigo and defeating Atletico Madrid.

However, as expected in their first season back, the Balearic side has had ups and downs this season. They are currently five points above the relegation zone, but they have plummeted to 15th position, so they can be forgiven for looking back a little.

Last time around, Barca earned a stunning away point, tying with Sevilla thanks to Ronald Araujo's equalizer. Xavi Hernandez's team deserved a better result, but they were unable to find a winner.
