Bayern Munich went nine points clear of RB Leipzig at the top of the Bundesliga table after a tense 3-2 victory at the Allianz Arena.

Bayern Munich 3-2 RB Leipzig

During a thrilling match, a tenacious Leipzig equalized twice, but the match was ultimately decided by Josko Gvardiol's tragic own goal shortly before the hour.

During a thrilling first half, both teams had numerous chances to score. With a tap-in in the 12th minute, Thomas Muller put Bayern ahead, but Leipzig were always dangerous on the break, and Dani Olmo might have scored a hat-trick before Andre Silva equalized in the 27th minute.

The home team handled the setback with poise and authority. Muller's goal was ruled out by VAR for a foul by Lewandowski in the build-up — and then Lewandowski put Bayern ahead with another superb finish just before half-time.

The magnificent Leipzig's Christopher Nkunku equalized for the second time, this time nutmegging Manuel Neuer, but it was only for five minutes. When Serge Gnabry's cross was diverted into his own net by Gvardiol, Bayern were up 3-2, and Leipzig were unable to rouse themselves for a third time.

Dortmund 2-5 Leverkusen

In the eighth minute, Gerardo Seoane's team took the lead thanks to a startling error by Dan-Axel Zagadou, which resulted in Manuel Akanji turning the ball into his own net.

Dortmund equalized just four minutes later when Julian Brandt's free-kick deflected off the head of Jeremie Frimpong into the Leverkusen goal, giving the game its second own goal.

Dortmund then conceded twice in seven minutes of mayhem. Florian Wirtz completed off a stunning burst to score an easy goal from inside the box in the 20th minute, putting Leverkusen ahead for the first time.
Just minutes later, Robert Anrich added Leverkusen's third goal with a wonderfully placed free-kick into the bottom corner from 20 yards out.

Dortmund's woes were exacerbated just eight minutes into the second half as Jonathan Tah scored a spectacular volley from inside the area.

Leverkusen may have slowed down their scoring in the second half, but with two minutes remaining, Jeremie Frimpong crossed the ball on the break and Moussa Diaby tapped in from inside the box to cap the thrashing.

For the home side, Steffan Tigges scored a late consolation goal.
