Bayern Munich continued their winning streak to remain at the top of the Bundesliga table.

Bayern Munich and Dortmund are making for an interesting Bundesliga race. This is the golden time for "Gray Lobster" to break through when the rival shows signs of decline. Bochum 1-1 Borussia Dortmund

In a 1-1 draw at promoted VfL Bochum on Saturday, Borussia Dortmund needed an 85th-minute equalizer from Julian Brandt to salvage a point as they fell six points behind Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich.

After Bochum took the lead in the 40th minute on a Sebastian Polter penalty, Brandt netted a well-deserved equalizer.

Second-placed Dortmund avoided a second straight loss despite having suspended coach Marco Rose in the stands, but they fell farther behind Bayern in the title race, with 31 points to Bayern's 37.

When Jude Bellingham only had Manuel Riemann to beat, he had a fantastic chance to put Dortmund ahead, but the goalkeeper saved his shot with a reflex save.

Later, Erling Haaland was denied by Riemann, with Bochum fighting back in their mini Ruhr valley derby.

Despite the pressure, it was Polter's well-taken penalty that gave the hosts the lead.

Dortmund, who were defeated 3-2 by Bayern Munich at home last week, had chance after chance in the second half, with Marius Wolf thinking he had equalized in the 53rd minute only to be overturned by a VAR review for offside.

By the 85th minute, Bochum had valiantly clung to their narrow advantage against Dortmund, having fired 21 shots on goal to Dortmund's three.

Brandt's low drive was ultimately awarded to the visitors.
