Rayo Vallecano 0-1 Real Madrid

Real Madrid won 1-0 against Rayo Vallecano on Saturday thanks to a late goal from Karim Benzema, allowing the LaLiga leaders to extend their lead at the top of the table.

They currently have a nine-point lead over second-placed Sevilla, who face third-placed Real Betis on Sunday.

At Vallecas, Real Madrid appeared sluggish and fragmented, and were on the verge of a goalless draw until Benzema and Vinicius Jr struck seven minutes from time.

With a beautiful through pass, the French striker found Vinicius and sprinted into space to receive the ball and finish from close range with a single touch.

Atletico Madrid 2-0 Celta Vigo

Atletico Madrid won back-to-back La Liga games for the first time since November, defeating Celta Vigo 2-0 at Wanda Metropolitano to climb to fourth place in the table.

Despite giving the Galician visitors more possession, Atletico took the lead in the 35th minute. After a long pass from deep by Geoffrey Kondogbia, Renan Lodi scored his first goal of the season with a stunning strike at the near post from a tight angle.

In the second half, the two combined once more to extend Atleti's lead, with the Brazilian scoring a brace with 60 minutes remaining. Lodi made a superb finish into the bottom corner of the net after Kondogbia's clipped ball was hit first-time.

Late in the second half, the hosts came close to adding a third goal as Antoine Griezmann's free-kick just sailed over the bar.

Atletico Madrid kept a clean sheet and earned a crucial victory in their push for the top four. Celta's five-game unbeaten streak in La Liga came to an end with this loss.

Barcelona 4-0 Athletic Club

Athletic possessed La Liga's third-best defense, but they were beaten on 37 minutes when Aubameyang connected with a loose ball in the area after Gerard Pique's header rebounded off the bar.

As Barcelona failed to enhance their lead, Ferran Torres had a shot saved and Gavi blazed over after being put up by Pedri. When Ousmane Dembele came on in the second half, everything changed.

There were still some jeers for the France winger, whose contract had expired, but he turned them into applause with a stunning goal and two wonderful assists as Barcelona pulled away with the game late on. To make it 2-0, he cut in from the left and blasted a goal beyond Unai Simon.

Late in the game, Memphis Depay and Luuk de Jong came in and both scored thanks to assists from Dembele. The outstanding Pedri, who had wriggled away from Iaki Williams and Unai Vencedor before making a fantastic long crossfield pass to Dembele, who crossed for the Dutch striker to score, was also responsible for De Jong's goal.
