Inter Milan 5-0 Salernitana

To cap up the triumph over the league's worst team at the San Siro on Friday, Lautaro Martinez scored a hat-trick and Edin Dzeko scored twice.

Simone Inzaghi's team now has a one-point advantage over Napoli in second place and third-placed derby rivals AC Milan, who meet in Naples on Sunday. Salernitana is still at the bottom of the table, 10 points from the safety zone.

Inter won by the same margin against Salernitana in December, marking the first record in Serie A in 63 years when a side has scored 10 goals against one opponent without conceding a goal.

AS Roma 1-0 Atalanta

Tammy Abraham's first-half goal was enough to give AS Roma a 1-0 win over Atalanta on Saturday, denying Gian Piero Gasperini's side the chance to jump into Serie A's top four.

In the 32nd minute, Abraham easily tucked home his 13th Serie A goal of the season. Roma had the best of the opening exchanges, with Gianluca Mancini headed against the crossbar early on.

As coach Jose Mourinho sat the final game of his two-match touchline ban, the visitors never looked like getting back into the game, with Roma hanging on for their second consecutive 1-0 triumph, this time thanks to an Abraham goal.

Marten de Roon was sent off in stoppage time after earning two cautions in quick succession for a vehement protest against a Roma free kick. Henrikh Mkhitaryan was then sent off for Roma, but the game had already been won.

With the win, Mourinho's sixth-placed side drew level on 47 points with fifth-placed Atalanta. Both teams trail Juventus by three points heading into Sunday's meeting against Spezia.

Udinese, meanwhile, moved out of the relegation zone after defeating Sampdoria 2-1 in a game in which all three goals were scored in the first 13 minutes.

Juventus 1-0 Spezia

Juventus put in another disappointing performance on Sunday evening in Turin, but it was just enough to beat Spezia.

Juve had to wait until the middle of the first half to create a clear-cut opportunity, which resulted in the game's only goal. Morata completed a sweeping play featuring Dusan Vlahovic and Manuel Locatelli by hitting the back of the net with a clean, low strike - his first Serie A goal of 2022.

Soon after the half-hour mark, Juan Cuadrado forced Ivan Provedel into a brilliant save, and Vlahovic was unable to capitalize when Locatelli lifted a pass over the top for him.

Early in the second half, the hosts were almost punished, but Emmanuel Gyasi could only fire a free headed straight at Juve goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny. With just over 10 minutes to go, the Pole was called back into action, coming off his line to smother Kevin Agudelo's effort.

In stoppage time, Morata missed a wonderful chance to double his score by failing to make perfect contact with a low cross.

Napoli 0-1 AC Milan

Olivier Giroud has been the difference for AC Milan this season, scoring against one of their main rivals to help the Rossoneri win 1-0 against Napoli on Sunday, keeping them on track to win their first Serie A title in over a decade.

Milan returned to the top of the Italian league when Giroud scored the lone goal in a tense but cagey match.

Milan is two points ahead of defending champion Inter Milan - who has played one fewer match - and three points ahead of third-placed Napoli.
